Xenia Marching Band welcomes students to participate and grow in their musicianship. If a student has need of financial aid for marching band fee payment there are a few options available.

Jeff Boggs Memorial Scholarship
Jeff Boggs was a tireless worker for the Xenia High School Band Program from August 2012 through May 2017. Along with this wife Michelle, Jeff volunteered to support countless events throughout the entire calendar year. He served as a Parent Leader during the annual Green County Fair parking fundraiser, helped out during band camp, used his own truck to pull the band trailer at football games and Jazz Band performances, and basically anything else that was needed. Jeff has a heart for service, and always set the example for all the band students, and their adult parents to emulate.
The winner of this scholarship will be selected by Michelle Boggs. Interested student candidates must submit a letter detailing how they have demonstrated a passion for service to the Xenia Band program. - Student(s) need a "C" average or above in all classes
- No outstanding band fees (If you’re not sure of your balance, contact our Treasurer at XeniaBandBoosters@gmail.com
- Well written and thoughtful essay, using correct grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure
- Make sure to include your Name, Grade you are entering, instrument or Color Guard
- Make sure to name the scholarship you are applying for

2026 Tammy Erbaugh Memorial Scholarship
In memory of Tammy Erbaugh, a Band Parent who dedicated many years to the Xenia High School Marching Buccaneers, the Xenia Band Boosters are proud to offer a marching band scholarship to one New Member each season.
Students should write a minimum 300-word essay on “WHY I WANT TO BE PART OF THE MARCHING BUCCANEERS” and include this application. Also, include students name, grade entering in fall and instrument they play. For Color Guard state you are a Color Guard applicant please. Submissions are due by June 21. You will be notified if your student was selected for the scholarship by June 28.
Criteria:
- Student is a new member of the Marching Band or Color Guard
- Scholarship would relieve a financial hardship for the student or family.
- Essay should be well written and thoughtful, using correct grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure
- When financial aid is granted, it is expected that the student and their parent/guardian participate in all fundraising activities, particularly Fair Parking and Tag Day. Any student and/or family that does not participate in fundraising activities will limit their chances to receive aid in the future.
- Should the student behave in any way that goes against the XCS student code of conduct during the marching season (July-November), the scholarship COULD be revoked.

MJ Scholarship
In recognition of the dedication and talent demonstrated by marching band and guard students, I am proud to announce a scholarship opportunity aimed at supporting your academic journey. I invite you to write an essay that showcases your experiences, aspirations, and character. This is your chance to express not only your passion for marching band and guard but also your vision for the impact you wish to make in your community and beyond. I will award one Tier 1 scholarship to a band member and one Tier 1 scholarship to a guard member.
Please write an essay addressing the following questions:
- How has participating in a marching band and guard shaped your personal growth, leadership skills, and teamwork abilities?
- Describe a moment or experience in the marching band and guard that had a significant impact on you. Explain why this experience was meaningful and how it influenced your outlook on life.
- What role does music and performance play in your life, and how do you plan to use your marching band and guard experience to contribute to your future academic or career aspirations?
- Why do you believe you are a deserving candidate for this scholarship? Highlight your achievements, dedication, and any challenges you have overcome in your journey.
Guidelines
- Essays should be 4-5 paragraphs in length.
- Submissions must be original, thoughtful, and reflective.
- Include your full name and contact information at the top of your essay.
- The deadline for submission is Sunday, 21 June 2026 at midnight. Late entries will not be considered.

Christmas In July Scholarship
Created by Dan and Carla Parker after having the honor of witnessing the hardwork, dedication, and growth of musicianship in Xenia Marching Buccaneers. This group of scholarships was funded through the marching nutcrackers fundraiser in December 2025 to provide accessibility to students whose families may need assistance to remove financial barriers from marching band participation. The proceeds made through this fundraiser created 5 full scholarships for the 2026 Marching band season. 1 scholarship specifically for a middle school student and 4 scholarships for highschool or middleschool students. The booster board and directors will vote on the deserving recipients of these scholarships.
To be considered students should write an essay responding to one of the following prompts:
- What does being in the Xenia Marching Band mean to you?
- Why would you like to be a part of the Xenia Marching Band?
- What does being a leader mean to you?
- How does music inspire your life?
All essays should be 4 to 5 paragraphs in length and well thought out. Make sure to include your name and grade you are entering into in the fall, what instrument you play or if you are in Guard.
